A Case Report of Typhoid Fever with Acute Cholecystitis

Abstract

|
Patient was 36 years old Korean male who was admitted to this hospital with complaints of severe right upper abdominal pain, high fever, general weakness and generalized jaundice. On physical examination revealed a soft, mild tendered palpable liver and spleen.
Positive laboratory finding in cluded moderate increased serum bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase and elevated S. G. O. T., S. G. P. T.
Widal reaction was positive during the onset of acute cholecystitis and salmonella typhosa was isolated in stool culture during the illness. I. V. Cholangiogram was revealed non-visualized in common bile duct.
The diagnosis was confirmed by clinical features, biochemical studies, bacteriological study and therapeutic effect for antibiotics.
